Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5600 Southwest Freeway



September 29, 2022 – Houston police are investigating a lethal hit-and-run crash at 5600 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Freeway 59) about 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 28).


The identification of the male sufferer, 69, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer C. Brothers reported:

The sufferer, a pedestrian, was in a transferring lane of web site guests on the freeway on the above deal with when he was struck by an unknown automobile touring inside the northbound lanes.  The driving force didn’t stop and render help, and left the scene.  A second automobile, a tan Chevrolet Equinox, then struck the sufferer.  That driver stopped and known as 911.  Paramedics arrived and pronounced the male deceased. 

The female driver, 24, of the Chevrolet was questioned, determined to not be impaired after which launched.
